Hello! I’m Rachel, and I’ve had the joy of being a childminder for over 20 years. I live with my husband, Arthur, our two children, Maya and Max, and our animals—Wiley the dog, Chucho and Benny the cats, and our two guinea pigs, Sully and Wilber.
I studied English and Psychology at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. Before becoming a childminder, I worked in various roles in journalism and later in Public Relations for a New York-based company. However, everything changed when my daughter Maya was born. I decided to become a childminder so I could be home with her and provide a fun, nurturing environment where she could grow alongside other children.
What started as a way to be with my own children quickly became a passion. I found childcare incredibly rewarding, watching children thrive and develop in a positive, supportive environment. As my children grew older, I continued my work as a childminder because I truly love seeing the joy and progress in the children I care for.
Maya is currently studying Sociology and Anthropology at Durham University, and Max is studying Biology, Sociology and Geography at Farnborough Sixth Form. I feel so grateful to have been here to see my own children thrive, and my passion for shaping young minds continues to grow. I look forward to continuing this journey, creating a safe, enriching, and loving space where children can grow, explore, and learn.
